State Goals for Career and Technology Education
The Texas Legislature established the following career
and technology education goals for all Texas students in
secondary schools: Each public school student shall master
the basic skills and knowledge necessary for:
- managing the dual roles of family member and
wage earner
- gaining entry-level employment in a high-skill,
high-wage job or continuing the student's education at
the postsecondary level (Texas Education Code Section
29.181)

The Goals of the Career and Technology Education Programs
of the Robstown Independent School District are to...
- Provide the opportunity for students to develop
marketable skills for employment
- Provide the opportunity for students to develop a
positive attitude for work.
- Provide the opportunity for students to develop and
practice good human relations.
- Provide the opportunity for students to develop an
appreciation and understanding of the free enterprise
system.
- Provide the opportunity for student to develop
leadership abilities.
- Provide a comprehensive career guidance program for
secondary level students.
