Dr. Puig previously served as Senior Governance Advisor for the Texas Education Agency prior to being chosen to lead as Superintendent of Schools for Robstown ISD.  He enjoys a wide range of experience as a superintendent, assistant superintendent, campus principal, and teacher, covering a diverse cross-section of Texas from small rural to large urban districts.  With that, he brings a depth and breadth of understanding of how to build systems to serve children of all backgrounds. He was the ESC Region 18 Superintendent of the Year in 2014 and a Finalist for Superintendent of the Year in Region 2 in 2019.  Dr. Puig's extensive experience in education will serve as a firm foundation for Robstown ISD, which prides itself on a rich history of hard work, progressive programs, and a promising future.  Dr. Puig states, “Robstown ISD is a shining example of what it means to put students first."  He believes that with its emphasis on innovation and excellence in academics, athletics, and the arts, Robstown ISD has built an inspiring foundation of achievement.  "I am eager to collaborate with Robstown teachers, students, and staff as well as the entire community to build on this success and help Robstown ISD envision its limitless future."
