there are microphones good day everyone good morning everyone um we've had some amazing checks lots of wonderful speakers amazing audience always thank you to the parents and the staff and all our our school staff and people that are here uh to present um we have a good list of speakers today for you and um with that being said we'll get you go ahead and get started this is the last 1 and there'll be some announcements about children um who's the outline you hear me you see I like to get started by uh having the staff members out there present themselves just that you stand with District okay drop off and Trina Alejandro Communications coordinator for the district Michael Ramon computer tech second that's positions my wife School District um I would hear from the city right I want to forget we have chance agenda is the next item I want to thank you somewhere there out there right now and so we discussed some of the other me uh but we want to make sure that everybody stays going to take no Chances with anyone there is a lot of weird stuff happening down there crazy people doing crazy I just want to know a police force to begin with and but we all need to take care of each other and you see something weird in the school district or in the city please report it later okay now our first speaker is Dr Eric West Texas 6 people and over 60 people hospitalized which goes along with the ratio of got about 10% chance of getting sick enough being in the hospital especially babies first year life someone gets the chances of a mortality death that is really common so it's a big deal a big side it's a little bit how can we prevent it obviously this is a very contagious impact if you're not vaccinated and you're exposed to it you have almost 100% chance 69% vaccination for a little chance and Statewide where you know 9495 percent a little bit higher than that and and places the county there's always County and things like that so the reason that popped up in this area probably I say probably something so their schools better head over 50% like the red over 63% wait so while the reasons for waivers I think we really need to be very uh as strict as law allows on a later vaccine make sure that we're up to date on the vaccine so that we on the other side that's right in with that and the needles months are valid when you of age so by someone really gets into school it should be vaccinated next time you get vaccinated it's at 11 why we have the head seventh grade we got to checking in make sure you got your living unit not that sort of checking this every year right this is not a child through the 4 year vaccines then 73 11 year vaccine flu vaccine really important unfortunately the uptake flu vaccine so the absenteeism and the deaths historically between 12,000 and over 60,000 deaths a year and I have seen children do I'm just wondering right so usually but for all of us so that's kind of the Free Speech 1 day so on the tracking of measles no cases down here Northeast Texas but once you get if there is someone in the room I was just wondering is there a difference between it's probably not easy between the flu vaccine and the nasal polio we develop all those you know what I'm saying is there a difference in the structure there's there's another basic difference between vaccines and Co different time I remember how some published a new style but others were big differences live you are presenting your body something that looks like disease to get your body to do its normal thing and make antibodies against it to fight which is the discussion of well I I have the disease so I have flu I've got there's different trains I don't think so and then 1 you're giving up pieces of those proteins right so it just looks like the vaccine the chickenpox that 1 is the vaccine and and there are certain cases where you don't we both don't have the right immune system HIV and things like that for certain criteria when you arrive back to use or not so that's the vaccine difference because a v vaccine and as as the nature so you don't want to pay your my vaccine may get a little bit better used to think but then there you know nasal spray is why vaccine for the flu but then they were generating more so if you get vaccinated both vaccines are very good about keeping people from dying they get the disease but I watched and I I saw how many more with the World Health Organization and that there is going to be some kind of a leading with Scientists to out with a new vaccine for the police this year but we're not going to participate do you foresee that having any impact with what we're going to be you know giving us an option for details very is not on Health Organization so I would not think that it is it's going to production not join the hood is a more political well it was going to be a meeting of scientists for you know different you know basis here in the United States there are leaders that they all come together to give our part like this is what we think is gonna be everybody who's gonna like be cohesive and the whole world that that happens that regularly yeah worldwide also specific us wise so that that getting together to discuss what what's next for food it's not new and I'm not sure you know exactly how much I don't I wouldn't expect to be a person we're doing some organization 2 vaccine changes every just like Co it's not that every year but because detail you know the shift drip right virus has you gotta chase what they look like if you're gonna give someone 1 of the best virus looks like you gotta keep changing lives showing your body so we uh making a new 1 every year we always do together experts to say what so it's probably by the time flu season hits already trying to predict the next season so we got to get this a little bit more of a the right way to get good yet say but a it is a little more specific on elderly it is pretty young so I have a 6 year like it's loaded answer based on the age ages but you know someone that's passed away percentages don't matter it's 100% right that's not you're at high risk we had 2 cases so we worked closely with the county health department they were reported and and and it's did it we want that back years ago now someone's having a baby everyone gets the key that just getting a lot of adults so it's not just springing it's not just for the moms they're the ones going to the opinion nobody's doing it make sure everyone's gonna be posting before they can get vaccinated so what is the recommendation on I've had a lot of people ask me on the measles um and um and the protesters I guess for adult that have we've got it it's you know how should we ever get it again when we're our age right don't need from geriatrician but for the protests and it's it's more to protect the subject of dying babies that is so much for that information I want to say thank you everybody for joining is the patient that we have on exactly exactly and we look forward to 1 we can ask we know that um throughout the year we've been getting some calls about um you have 1 way signs that literally say schools on all day long so we're doing away with that there's a lot of frustration there and I and I feel it I know it a lot of frustration because we changed a lot of the signs already we've done 8 signs are able to change them um I don't know how or where it got passed at 1 time but when it became the city ordinance in the cities uh Charter it was all illegal so we're fixing that uh the state mandates administrative time the world allowed to have these school goals active so that's what we're focusing on we're amending the current city ordinance with it change it all so no longer is it going to be a 1 way from 88 to 5 P that that's going to win all that's going 1 ways will only be during the actual District time posted on the additional signs we've made changes so the bear with us it takes us a while to get some of those signs ordered get the stickers put in place and all that but we're doing it if you have any questions is by any other signs that you might need change or you'd like for us to take a look at please call my office and and make that happen I get the uh Public Works they'll make all the changes that we need so we're supporting you we work side by side with the chief this is a big figure out how you get the flow of traffic better for the parents in the morning and during pickup this is 1 of those things that we discuss so uh please if you have any information on how we can better it come out and let us know we'll get more fun damage okay our next presenter West Health Service student presentations hello everybody I did bring some students along with me today I have J bernardes Junior I'm a Garza sophomore and Natalia Rivera sophomore and we're just here to give a presentation I know we're already nearing the end of the school year so we like to talk about mental health and how important it is for our family our Guardians our students and just the impact it makes on them in the summer but then also give some ideas on what we can do during the summer there's a lot of activities a lot of events a lot of things that happen that people aren't aware of um some situations we not have the financials to go and and do a lot of things it's been a lot of money but there are things that are free things that they don't take much that we can share ideas for um I know in my class we do have a countdown we put account down as soon as as a break is coming up we put a countdown students see the countdown and it kind of motivates them and inspires them to continue to do the work to do better but then in some cases some students don't like to see the countdown between them nervous some students enjoy not so much oh they want to come and do all this work for us and everything but more so they see their friends they get to talk some some that's their their away their little get away from home and they have any struggles at home so I mean I put the countdown up knowing that it could kind of trigger some students but that's why we're able to discuss it so here we're just going to share some ideas I know that we have some parents here but also if you have to share with the families friends whoever you all know we're just going to go over some stuff very emotional psychological and social health influences and thoughts feelings and actions while managing parenting challenges important it's vital for parents to recognize the importance of their mental health not only for their own sake but for called the positive impact that has on their children stress anxiety and depression can affect any parent regardless of their background or circumstance yes it nitrate environment be mental health actually pressure and support for isolation a longer days and more than that provided the next side Sunday theme sand castle swimming and beach volleyball swimming pools there are a few pools in the area with low calls for entrance like here in our local rocks on for the biggest park check out the Ducks at your office and hiking and caffeine exploring trials and Sunday nights Under the Stars bird watching at Hazel Park Majestic Outdoors barbecues and pigments picnics gathering with friends and family for lunch or outdoor meals biking taking scenic routes drink Parks or Countryside gardening planting flowers vegetables and herbs sponsors and festivals experiencing live music and cultural event outdoor movies watching films under the Open Sky many events take place across from the city hall Road troops discovering new places and extractions Rob like some Historical Museum fruit picking visiting local art or charts to pick fresh fruits Journey leaks or volleyball basketball baseball softball I know coloring reading and painting things that are relaxing and you can also do that at the local teach Library on Facebook what they do and when they do they gym membership and register online trans and raise new expenses some of our awesome speakers that we're going to have here I know the Majesty outdoors and the key family library and other here to speak on it so I didn't make a slide very young I'm sorry but um we did include a lot of different activities some they don't cost much so I mean it is important get the children out there get them active keep them busy it helps them stay on track so thank you all there there is a night shift walk area behind the key Library some of you have not seen and then 1 next to also back there was a lot of accusations the next presenter is and he's a his culture the girls and also other duties we ask we didn't make a lot of so Department this information to you guys the community uh we do have um activities starting with um Dental pricing relates if you're not familiar with liquid relays it's an annual event that we do but uh Elementary for the computer against each other um they got at first we had a program I don't know what happened to the program that every year and so they decide that they're gonna have the little picture relays is is going to be on Wednesday May 7th and it's uh from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. and the community is welcome everyone is welcome to go out there and support the little ones um Junior High the only group that's going out there will be the sixth graders so sixth grade will be completing against each other and so on that that that's just once more but the elementary is they go hard for because like I told you I know if you have so other than a little bit Reliance we have in the summer we have the uh the summer track program that that that I run with the coaches and track and we start with 5 year olds 51 12-year-old but no incoming celebrators have 6 grade like they have to be incoming sixth graders not incoming seventh graders so if you have any uh little ones that they want to participate in that we have the 2 meet and drop down June the 6th the 5th and June the 12th that that that's going to be for the little ones we're trying to get the big the big ones to come out and uh we're going to Incredible 1 for the big ones I did the last so right now technically we have 2 other ones but the first 2 weeks this summer and all this is tentatively so any information that we're giving you right now uh please don't post it yet until the take a we did all these flyers for us and a very nice Flyers um but all the dates that you have in front of you it might change a little bit we need to tweak it so don't I don't want anybody getting mad that you said this and you said that and not happening so give us about another week and we're going to tweak it and and we're going to post it out there to the community so going like for the summer Sports Camps uh we have a basketball cat going on for boys the girls we have some volleyball camp we have a softball baseball cap we have a football cap so all that is on your on the flyer uh the cost of the camp is not very much I mean you for those cats talk about 502 100 bucks all they're asking for these cancers $20 and maybe it goes to like if they get insurance like drains and stuff like that but most of the money that that they make there is profit and then um we go on to the uh working cap they call it uh coach meter calls it with the cap it's from it's a it's a 4 day cap and it's for all all the incoming celebrators through ninth graders it's a dollar fee it's um they're going to be doing like football volleyball and a touring time basketball and softball at a different time so they they have all the categories of what your the kids want to want to join you know or want to be thinking of what I'm doing for for the when they start doing sports in junior high high school and then we have our main 1 which is this is kind of its concrete but like I said sensitively then we call it the summer power workouts and this is uh the incoming celebrator all the way through cleaners so this 1 goes on from June the 9th all the way to July the 25th we have only 1 week that we typically get the brake is uh it's I think it's the the July 4th a week during that week we shut down the whole school and and we give the kids the whole week off and nobody is allowed to go through the track the week and stuff like that so that way they can be with their family and stuff like that and of my math what happens if I go on vacation you know when my dad was a kid like they're not going to be here a week or 2 2 days 3 days this is why we tell the kids go on vacation we're not going to stop you you know uh don't take the don't click the holes on the wrong the only comes you know go do your thing like our Runners like my Runners I tell them okay I'll send you if you're you're You're gone for a week I'll send you like a 3 to 4 day workout this is what you're gonna do you know they got a hotel they have a rental they have a they have a weight you know so you know there's something to do or if you go camping you know you can go hiking whatever you're going to do so you know just because you're off doesn't mean that I'm I'm off you know we still want you to do some type of activities so that's only that week for us that we give them but also we give the kids the opportunities to go with the family we don't stop the kids the whole summer from not doing no no but come back don't don't use the whole just stay home and not do you know that's not you're not going to get better like that so this this is going to be from 9 to noon Monday through Friday we used to go Monday Thursday but now it's going to be Monday through Friday so it's the whole this is about for only incoming celebrators throughout great because I know the past years we had some uh kids that get them will bring their equipment they will bring like fifth graders and fourth graders they kind of slowed us down you know so many times we going to have stuff for that like that's why we're having those gaps but then you know that so if you have any questions on that this for incoming 7 and other than that this is what's going on for rocktown for our for our reports for our junior high for high school some of you know from elementary some the summer program we have the we run runs all the way until the end of June and we we do um you know we we practice with them twice a week we go to them with the both the parents taking we don't have you know you're going to be a summer time and won't be there and Value Guide the kids on what they're going to be the running or jumping or whatever they're going to do so they want they're interested in that they can do that we're there anybody have any questions about this number what about diet on like all these activities and all these things can you do but I know you guys maybe you guys like discuss like how much to eat what you I know some of them just want to get out there in the morning and they haven't had no energy to burn then it's hot like eating yeah do you guys yeah like do you all like also tell them like we all like like 9:00 so they have the morning to get breakfast banana you know something for what they're going to do because it's going to be from 9 to noon they're going to have 3 hours they're going to need that for for them to fill up and that way they'll be facing out there week or whatever but after the work out as well I know the schools are going to have a lot of so so we do this after the workout we send them to you know what I mean like and and they get to return to you know get all the I know you guys are doing a lot of innovative things but I see now like they have all these young people they watch college football pro football but like you see these kids now that are out there that are helping the fight um sport Sports training sports medicine and then nutrition I think really good day have here have a kid like maybe go in there I want this is what I want to do and like this is going to that I think that would be great just like we have like the nurses that come so that the students that we have could just an idea recommends this is the time that this year's time like right now especially with playoffs with baseball which is good it's a good problem to have you know all of our development and everybody's doing good right now and uh the day we're going to be able to pay for um yeah you know it's a good time right now for Rockstar right now we have the 3 programs going on still and they're all right now thank you for everything you do coach thank you guys the ideas staff members the board members do that we have here you know please bring it up so they can make an order and do something about it if they can because the 2 that we participate the other thing action to make things happen it will take no action nothing happens you got to protect yourself okay you got to make it for you yeah our next presenter to the next protagonist and Christina Deon and the subject area director of safety and Rit social work the different today because accepted to present this year's titles in San Antonio this is 1 of our probably presentations so we can start this is basically it uh some part of the department that we're going to show again you're wanting to San Antonio be for an hour this 1 and my name is Christina and I'm going to 2 District social workers from the district and we work with all of our campuses I primarily work with Metro around um like Mr said we are talking a little bit about our rent assessment process which is has to do with our student safety um everything I work in a town called today is not something that brought some I see just thought of or what we thought was needed needed to be addressed or needed to be taken seriously everything that we're talking about is coming from legislation these are things that the state that this is what our campus our school districts need to be looking for this is what we need to be addressing and how that we can help keep our students safe so these are some of the um bills that have been passed that we use when we were creating our right assessment protocol Senate Bill 11 is a bill that says every school district needs to have a safe and supportive school program it's a big umbrella but under there is um a behavior threat assessment process and team and we'll talk a little bit more about that in a few minutes Council 473 um state that whenever uh the campus is conducting with rent assessment and we'll talk a little bit more about what a great assessment is I know it sounds like that students are great it's really about us making sure our students are safe that's what it is but whenever we are doing that legally they have to call a parent and let them know okay you know we had this concern that and we want to be able to support your students um please help us we want your input we want you to tell us what's going on at home what's working at home so that way we can um work together and maybe try some of those things here at the campus and House Bill 3 um that says that now anytime a threat assessment is done on campus or done with the student it's now part of their academic record so it follows them so if something happens to the campus where the team does have to the great assessment implemented support plan if they transfer to another District um the school district should be requesting these records and we have to provide it to them again I want to emphasize and we'll say it 1 supplies the more this is not a bad thing the threat assessment is not punitive it's not a disciplinary measure it's a supportive issue it's the district and the staff trying to be corrective to identify concerns and Implement interventions that will help the students that we have so a little bit more about why we have our Behavior proteins like you said Senate Bill 11 says every District needs to have a safe safe and supportive school program which includes that behavior Authority team in the process the behaviors are behaviors that are assessing process is is not caused Behavior assessment our protocols caught the students Student Response protocol because that is what we're doing we're responding to your student um whether it's seen as a threat or not it's about making sure the student is safe making sure they have the support that they need and as a parent I want to know that my campus is responding to my student right each campus has a team um the law actually says you can have 1 team through the entire District but safety has been is a priority and um our district said no we want every campus to have its own team you know the staff know their students they know what's needed and so that's what we have um and it's not just random people or just based on their knowledge alone every member of the team is trained by it's a full day training it's very thorough uh by the Texas School Safety Center they are the guru of everything school safety so any kind of school safety training the Texas School Safety Center has um some part in it okay and they also are trained on our internal protocols the district calls that are specific to reps down the point of our Behavior our threat assessment teams is to identify and assess individuals who make threats of violence whether it's to themselves or others um again we kind of identify and assess and the team needs regularly to determine is there somebody that we need do we have concern Mr thaga made this comment to a staff member or to a teacher do we need to implement some kind of supports for him we need everybody has their own um perspective and how they work with the student or what they've seen and we're able to decide okay if we do have the time what interventions are needed is it a counseling is it maybe or for a for 504 accommodation special special education services whatever that looks like for that student and the whole purpose of our teams is to conduct comprehensive University assessments and deliver those supportive um interventions in the holistic way and I think this is like the 1 of the most important parts because we get that our students are human I am won't say my age but um you know an adult not old but but I have bad days sometimes I say things I don't mean sometimes I do think things I regret and so do our students and so the point of our team is to not only look at the student like at that particular moment that 1 incident is to look at them as a whole okay what's been going on maybe things that's something but yeah Mom and Dad going through something did they just move did you know their sibling maybe just went to college they maybe don't do something and they're trying to process and they're trying to go and that's what the team does look at the entire picture and it helps us better um like know how to and not only dated something and I need to be in trouble okay this is not punitive it's a supportive me what that's not as far as the school district is the police department is projection of the school so when they're at the safety support system sometimes there's a line that we got to make sure we keep everybody safe and but that's what we need I guess we understand is that because we're there yes we are there we are a lot more but the thing is that we're there because we have options to support the we can also contribute to that whatever is going on um work also social workers a lot of time go get help with with the for something that we'll go out there with but that's the main part is that we're not there because they're in trouble there the number 1 reason it's just not a very um very general explanation of of what we disagree it says the behavior threat assessment process is a structured proactive approach use to identify assess and respond to potential safety concerns the process involves Gathering relevant information to determine whether an individual closest a credible threat and to distinguish between those who make threats and there are 2 holes they generally the primary goal is for the intervention addressing those concerns before the escalate while providing the support to those individuals sorry to those involved ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment for all students we understand that our our students aren't going to learn the way they at their best if they don't feel safe if they feel uncomfortable and so our goal is to make sure that the school is a safe place survey I saw every student every talk anytime you know with a group of students we get to have a lot on their plate and our goal is when they walk into the school I want them to be able to take a breath and here I don't have to worry about anything except my score and my friends and learning and and when something is getting in the way of that that's where we step in if you figure out okay what do we need to do to help take that third we talked a lot about threats so what exactly is a threat these are some very self-explanatory um you'll hear verbal threats or if it's anything that's said right um I'm gonna tell you I'm gonna kill myself I'm gonna do this I'm gonna you're gonna I'm gonna shoot anything like that right so far suicidal ideations bowling cyberbullying are considered um threats fighting use of possession um use and possession of a weapon sexual assault harassment and dated violence again this is not these are not things that we felt needed to be included these are things that the Texas School Safety Center has identified as types of threat that the school district needs to address so we're going to go into what exactly the school safety center identified or Define it's a lot of words but I wanted to make sure that you understand again this isn't something that we created this is something that state is telling us um this is what you need to be looking at is a is there any communication or behavior that indicates an individual poses a danger to the safety of school staff or students through active violence or other behavior that would cause harm to self others it can be communicated verbal behaviorally or visually in writing and trying to clean any other way and it's considered a threat regardless of regardless of whether it is observed by or communicated directly to the Target of the threat or observed by communicated to your party even if the target of the threat doesn't know what happened we still to be seriously considered that harmful threatening or violent Behavior includes um some of those listed that we just talked about herbal threats of harm bullying fighting use of possession the weapon  violence stopping more than anything that's a very long list right we want our staff to remember um I think the biggest takeaway here is we take all threats any report of a possible threat we treat them the same where there's coming from a kindergartner and when I think there's no way that they have access to that point there's no way that they can actually hurt me their kindergartner we treat it the exact same it was a temporary that made uh by throwing in some um and we take a new reports at face value I think sometimes we might think like oh this was third Force dependent permission I don't even know if it's true a parent heard kids talking about it and it was a girl where you know it's not very credible now the state says it doesn't matter if we think it's critical or not if it's reported to the campus it's important to anybody we are going to take it at face value and we're going to start our assistant I think that's important because this is not that thing this is a matter of us saying we want to make sure everybody is safe what do we needed you to make sure be art Department we have a lot of resources that are here on the campus we try to do everything but like I said No 1 this year we're going to use everything we have in front of us to to take care of the policy what the options are what we can do what we can do and what we need a lot of the threat stuff a lot of them they're having the school you know the counselor we want to get parents involved we want to get everybody can involved to help the situation because I said no matter what happens the provider they go to the hospital they have to to juvenile everything went back to the school they're going to be told to come back to school so we can't say oh we're going to rest them we won't see them again you know we don't have a problem anymore or not or they're going to say okay now you're here we're going you gotta go right back to school want to make sure you're in the school so again like I said we're trying to use every resource in the school to where every student will be found yesterday we had another 1 thank you you know is that considered yes exactly considered a threat and anytime something like that would happen our protocol would be implemented right we would see what and I want to make sure there's always like 2 sides that are going we have a supportive side so we want to see okay as a student stage and once we can guarantee safety like the immediate safety how are we going to support the student what interventions are needed to help keep the student and the peers safe right if it was a total how can we prevent what was going on and things like that there's also the discipline side there's also the law enforcement side so like 2 and they they're right there with us anytime we're screening the student majority of the time and so if some things happen where might say hey this is a a criminal issue this is something where um charges may be filed then they kind of take over of course it's not their first go to we don't want charges filed on all of our students and you know we're not trying to set I'm not prepared here but we understand that sometimes there there's no option and that's just part of the process but even when it is we still call our protocol they can still find charges someone might go to do these might have community service July 2007 they're still going to come back to school and so our goal is when they come back how are we supporting what interventions have we done to make sure that this doesn't happen we always will offer its support you know whether it's a counselor with social workers figuring out what do they need to feel safe um if they were targeted threat you know do we need any classrooms does the schedule need to be changed um of course if there is someone all charges involved sometimes there's legal things that they have to follow it may not be able to hear each other things like that and all of that's taken into consideration whenever we are kind of implementing that support plan to them so we're going to work with the courts but it's not going to be like it's usually it's in all the store in practice sort of Justice they want the best for the kids a lot of time being anybody uh so they're gonna give us they're going to ask for us our help too to have programs in place to make sure that when the child comes back support system there's a 316 and sometimes um it gets a little tricky but like I said the school teacher resources that we try to use more and just it's just a matter of you know which ones work for which so just how the flow goes our process any time um it's right as identified any way you can identify recorded thread it can be another student a teacher you know staff member meeting a member parent anybody anybody can record a possible threat once it's recorded someone on this um on the behavior threat team will assess for risk we do a safety screening our district motor call says anytime we're going to screen a 2 different safety because we are asking some some serious questions do you feel like you feel like putting anything else any time we do that we will try to call parent before it's not a matter of that your student is in trouble it's just we understand those are big questions and parents may want a heads up before your student is asked that right we will try of course safety is priority so parent doesn't answer we will go ahead and make sure that the students and go through with that safety screen um once that's done on safety is um ensured the team meets regularly and we complete a threat assessment screen it's a free screener which basically is a chance for the team to come together and say okay this is what happened do we have concerns what's this a serious incident um you know unless you talk with so to keep this and then he was going to kill him all right what was going on do we have concerns was it at 1 time well they were mad because he took his law and you know we talked to him he has no actual intentions of Freedom anybody was just like right and so we might say okay there was no no concern with Chief and it's going to be closed right there after screen there are times when it is more serious and we spoke with you and he said I am mad and I'm going to the other like or I have this time I actually do have a plan of killing myself um and so we had concerns right when that happens we um work for the student out for additional evaluation uh anytime we have a concern of safety that we're not able to roll out safety here we ask that they see a medical professional or another mental health professional to ensure that they are safe to be at school when that happens the team meets again and we say um okay if we thought that some kind of support plan placement so we complete a full case worksheet which is the full thread assessment which really is just the students whole support team coming together to come up with a plan we get information from the teachers we get information from police officers um from maybe the bus drivers sexual education um of course the campus Administration um or admin we anybody that can give information if they have a psychiatrist to get out there because included by them to get information and say okay see the student as a whole what's been going on is it something that just started has this have they been struggling with this for a while and we kind of are able to analyze all of that information so we can develop a support network do you seeing everything that's going on now what can we do here at the campus um do if they are not scheduled they need special education services do we need to start that work for all um like we said do they need outside counsel do they need to check in like you know what we're gonna have um a place where they go check in with the counselor or with 1 of the front office staff every Tuesday at 9:00 they or every first period that's a problem that's the issue that they're having a period that they're having an issue whatever is needed we look at that specific student and their specific need and develop a plan for them and it's implemented and every time the campus meets which maybe regularly um we are following up on that time if it was meeting with social worker once a month the team may ask me okay how is that meeting building are things getting better are they learning those token skills that you've been talking about not so have they been um whatever the case is for following up so we can say okay things are getting better the goal is that we're not following Christian De Leon for 2 years you know we've the boys if they are calling me for a year the team will be able to show look at all the interventions we've tried what hasn't worked what hasn't worked um it's not just indefinite what was that the risk of harm is being reduced and eventually we can they can't you know what we provided an intervention for 2000 and he's not risking doing well it's not for cases to just you know our our teams they consist of um our principal or assistant principal that cannot this counselors the officers the officers the nurse social worker and the behavioral specialists and of course sometimes we will invite a teacher to come is maybe get information like we said the coach bus driver whoever can help give us information but that is a core team so that's anybody um those are any that you can report a concern to any kind of safety concern mental health safety concern can be reported to them and they are the ones that are trained to be able to screen students and know what process while the we encourage all right number is 10 and our students like to talk to 1 of the team members um we know that sometimes we don't always want either have time to go in and talk to somebody or we don't want them to know it was me like somebody told me this in confidence and I don't want my name out there so there is an anonymous reporting system this is our flyer for reporting only however I was supporting system it's a platform where you can report any kind of concern whether it's blooming mental concerned it can even be like defense and you don't have to leave your name and those um reports go directly to the principal and to the super and so if there's ever a concern for safety they will forward it to us and we're able to start our our protocol and ensure safety um if you just want to show you where this is a QR code so if you take your phone out you'll will be a little show you the link where you can go and make a report um but I do want to show you where it's at in our in our District web page so this is Russ and wv.org you type it in the um type it in the line if you go to Quick links it's the first the first link up there so you click speaking with him you can click any of the campuses I just want you to see what it looks like whenever just gonna ask um if you're a student parent you can put other you can leave a name It'll ask you what type of incident this is you'll see that it talks about more than just um molding there's abuse nucleate cyberbullying the issue is done the weapons and the other staff say you can you can report any kind of safety concern on here um and like you said it goes directly to our principal and our superintendent so it can be addressed right away and I it even option like you can like that upload something maybe you have a screenshot you can upload it if you want it's not to be able to while it is anonymous if sometimes it is really good too leave a name if you so we are able to thoroughly investigate and make sure we have all the information but you don't have to leave me just a big takeaways um more than anything we want our families to know this is not a bad thing if you get called her parents called you know we're running assessment which is not usually our verbage but if it were to say that it's not a bad thing it does not mean that the student is in trouble it means we it was reported that somebody may be unsafe and we want to make sure everybody's safe it's a way for us to support our students and you have options uh when we call parents this isn't a it's our way of the highway you don't have a safe so we would want to consume is a whole lot we completely understand that a big part of that is what happens at home and what our parents are feel when they're kidding so when we call and say Hey you know um this is happening we want to screen your student for safety if you have the you know what actually my child has a psychiatrist can I take him there can I take him to their pediatrician is there any other options um while we are trained to screen for our for safety if you want somebody else that's okay too and we think that's important because it's about us working together if you feel better hey I have my family doctor screening my student for safety that's okay we have the paperwork and you can get it done our goal is to make sure the student is safe and then be able to support them um and we treat all student athletes the same every single day um and we sometimes our parents might say just say that they don't mean it and we understand but we take safety very seriously week it's our top priority and so if there's any concern we treat them the exact same whether it's a student that says it's every other day or this is the first time they've said it and they're in the same it's going to be the same process all the time but it's something that not even thinking about it thinking hey these like I said don't do that like I said we want them to trust us in the month to come to and they need help and they need something to work there any questions parents I do want you to know as the I mean I've sat in and many of these threat assessment meetings and together like it's amazing it's just like a coming together of the minds the actual person who sees what's going on person who like supports and then the parent and then the you know every every every ready together um but I want you to know that we also have so many resources we have regarding here obviously Clinic um so many outside entities that are not just part of our school district people that we work with so closely that we pick up the phone and hate when you see or hate what is you know um it's important to get someone you know and have those reasons you want to say on that sir thank you all so much for everything you all do I never had that experience he said thank you for being here and anyone else that came in that I need to see I'm the director especially and we're part of the support team you know what this is a very difficult this is the very thorough and I'm glad to stay just we got to protect each other you know there are some young kids saying now we have a good number of speakers left still the point we don't want to keep be brief uh I want to just say come to Ross town with 1 of the challenges that I have to take up those administrative review its a determining factor of let us know uh where we are when it comes down I can't stand it so we had an audit or came in he said 2 days here the analysis of our menu all our finances I purchased this and all of that um we had a few of those miniature Finance but we didn't have to pay back any money and anytime you don't have the payback in your money then that's a good thing so uh that was 1 of the challenges coming in and truly want to commend uh Rock speech and all the staff out of the schools there to help participate to make sure that the post track review because they broke down into agreement divisions uh they get awesome job and also uh I feel that the junior high also would expect all day at that campus and that was in our breakfast in Washington our Southern meals and now they're going to come back um on the put it like next week create a 2 more days for TDA to come back to do a final assessment on her secondary program so that once we get through with that we can finish out the year so we don't have to worry about the state coming for the next 3 or years so that is accomplishment that because of the participation of all of the administrators uh the staff the kids um yeah you know we had to fix all this paperwork out 12 weeks prior to him getting him so we had a lot of documentation that we have to support we have to upload and get all the display so this way when they did come we can just go ahead and do the process we have said many we have some also we have some production pre-production records yes a lot of company things that we have to do to make this happen so do all of that regard that we got through it we don't have to worry about anything else so the next 3 to 4 years we want to assure that our kids will still get a free meal um the intel was still working on some items uh we had some delays uh we were still trying to focus so we still have some items like our surveys and now that we have done past this we ought to now be passed over to some area where we need to really use up trainers and meetings to help them we can put out some items within reason because balance that would not a management company now we have so that's makes a difference so now we have to really try to control our spending we have a really control our ways to think that we put out to the kids and openly the choice that we're trying to implement them to be positive and then finally we get ready to I didn't get a chance to bring out the information for the program but we have been approved for the some program for this for this year so we do have the federal high school campuses that will be utilized this year so remember uh reference will be from 8 to 8:30 and I want you to be around 11 you make it through 12 but I just wanted to reiterate this is that we is from 1 to 18 people free parents or teachers have to pay Martha the bad news the focus is the information we see like and will be running from June the 2nd all the way to June the 27th so those will be the time to be running our program told you we need to get with you I don't know what time your kids are going to be coming in or know so other than that we will be submission advertise them out to make sure that our kids are getting an opportunity with parents to get an opportunity to break PSN I love a good time when you have your your grand kids and they have a whole bunch of them you don't want to do any cooking with our and we are again open to the community not just for our kids this for our kids family members can come to me too but remember we always take care of our kids first you always think young person can I get you a 1 location we've got 3 more location and then once we start growing if it's progressing we start doing a good job but other than that that's well right now we run from 8 to 8:30 for breakfast when we can't change it a little bit earlier I just have to resubmit to the state not it's not about 11 some kind of ones and 11 12:30 and now the reason why I'm doing that I'm following up on the pass on the last time you haven't had it because we used to make an adjustment and I'm saying so I think that well and I didn't make that decision on that I'm just following but you know I understand what you're saying is if they don't have the transportation to get to 20 but I'm just talking because all I want to know is who's gonna be open for and how we're gonna come in you know the thing about um from my my understanding based on programs over the years it's supposed to be a 2-mile radius now they changed that I don't know last time so it hasn't been a 2 Mile radiant between both those camps because we can't have those camps too too close together so between and again something yeah we want that's why I'm trying to create it's not just over to the kids within the parameter of them but we still have not outside thank you sir outdoor Majesty Outdoors we have a program that is called hygiene High Changers program is for those students or youth that are from 8 to 18 and so I'll tell you a little bit about those uh the activities that we've done this year and some of those things have been things like golfing have been right I don't know I don't know that any or if there are any other students other than ours so we do have golfing camping fishing got to ice cream types of date of Prairie and we're going to continue to do that throughout the summer uh we had a summer program where we would go we had 5 chapters with that is the Outdoor and outside there would get together so last year we had about over a hundred students from all 5 chapters get together at baked in Batesville for a camping trip unfortunately it got expensive and so we're not going to do that this year but we found out that there are other organizations that we're encouraging our service those but we are going to continue through the summer so if you know anybody that is 8 to 18 The Bicycle Cafe that wants to learn how to do those things we are here at the Orbeez interior from 6 uh p.m. to 8 p.m. everybody's welcome the program is geared towards children that did not have a but we will accept anybody we want every uh student in the rough semi is the to participate in this program now we need Partners that's why I'm here we need partners that will come alongside us and volunteer because another thing is that we want our children safe and so we want to have enough volunteers for for students that we have right now we have 28 students and we have about 9 volunteers so we're okay but I know that we are going to grow and so we need more volunteers so partners uh the other thing I wanted to say is that uh this year including those things that I've already talked about in May we're going to appreciate trip we're already planning for our rocktown fishing trip uh we're also planning for a books game we're gonna attend that we're gonna attend the Texas state of prayer event and all of these things are free free to all and so let's say you have you want participate or you want to volunteer with us and you have a family you're a pleasant way to come alongside us and partner with us volunteer and the children can also and so you're welcome to come and that's what we're here for the other thing I want to say is that I say it's free yeah it's free and we want to keep it that way and that's why we are looking for we need partners that supporting us and things like I just had a gentleman come out Tuesday he donated some fishy rods because we are currently teaching our kids how to go fishing everything from what type of way what type of Rio to use in saltwater freshwater and that's what we're doing and and we we got called out of by 1 of our tight changes he said what are we doing inside I thought this was Majesty Outdoors uh yeah it is but we got to teach you indoors because otherwise we're not going to be able to teach any outside they're 1 around right and so that's you know 1 of the biggest things for me in this program and it has been something that I wanted to do for Robson I am and as a matter of fact when they said little Pickers that was a highlight in my in my younger years right and you'll remember I was in a great idea the long jump and I have according to the code might have been I had to recognize I don't know you know somebody was there to encourage you right that's what we're doing and so for our students alongside that we also have the estas program estas program is for for families for the single moms and we're doing life coaching teaching them about how to take care themselves first right because if you can't take care of yourself or you don't is that we understand that we have is able models we have brand and everything we do those we do have families that don't have problems that that are taken care of their grand children and and we're there for them we are building a community of Hope because fatherlessness is is a serious thing 1843 million children in 2022 that's alarming I don't know about you but I want to make a difference here in that's why we're here wanted to show you really quick a lot of our program if you have any questions afterwards I'll be sitting over here that's 2009 Majesty Outdoors provide opportunities that creates lifelong Learners at cutting in Middle School South Park um it really builds our students confidence and it reinforces character skills to teach here at the school um 1 of the months they taught team work and the students in a fun way built tents together to really work on their team building skills another month we were talking about self-direction and they brought in time ever got to shoot archery it's these kind of experiences and opportunities that really have impacted our students and are talking about it what was your favorite part about Pi changing today really fun and it's uh really educational long word it would be better did you know that over 800 million children in the US live without a father figure in their lives that's 1 in 4 Kids growing up without the support they need to succeed Majesty Outdoors is here to change that through our Australia's program we extend our mission to single mothers offering them support resources and a path to stability for their families we understand the challenges they face we're here to help them build a better future I grew up in libraries every day is a little liberation over Library um so just a little bit more about migrating we are um Idol hubs we are more than more than books um then we are um connection to the community um we always expand and want to um get something to learn for the kids and the adults that come to the library so we are also doing a rain Garden which will be coming up new in the be aware of our social media on there as we don't know that of course behind the library and also a matrix there as well so it's kind of a learning Growing Experience of the library you'll see the walking trail back there with our story walk we also have a story walk at the Oster if you haven't seen out there promoting health and literacy as well um and it looks like to talk about our upcoming event coming up for you hey everyone so our event tomorrow is our that is the day for the children literacy and different cultures um you can see the itinerary itinerary there and I also put some out there so if you grab 1 um you'll be able to see the full day that we have um we have our St Avenue cheerleaders they will be performing tomorrow we have our little before you go group they will be performing um we have several local authors that will be coming and reading so either books and then we do have um police chief Dumas will be reading and then starting up this will also be there um so yeah we have a fun day it is free we do have our petting zoo as well coming for 1 hour so get us if you have kids make sure to bring them it's gonna be a fun day tomorrow and then we do um our Bishop ranch will also have a beer in the Loos and that it's going to be April 30th from 4 to 5:00 p.m. so if you don't make it to Rochester you can always make it to our Bishop Ranch for the summer reading so just that other presentation for the students They promoted What's d during the summer we would also like to promote our summer reading challenge so we uh we know that the summer slide is um always happening sometimes uh during the summer but to encourage meters or also other letters come to the library during the summer we have 3 books we have the art programs that are going to go on this summer um and then we just have different activities to come so we would like to provide that summer slide coming up in the summer and um so people can check out books DVDs we have different uh sensory stem backpacks we have uh cooked cake pans as well for checkout so um someone reading program starts June 1st we encourage the the uh Pre-K teams children and adults as well so we will have our green squared app that you can download on your phone that's going to It's All Digital and you can get 1 minute uh 1 Point to read but that's not possible you can return points so you can also come to our events trust Marine program that you can also order point so it's a summer of learning that the library with different art programs and activities and all that that's being explained more about those talking about our summer reading program at different age groups that we have again it's for all ages it is free so it's again just to prevent that summer slide reading over the summer they do have incentive they get prizes along the way um so definitely sign up your kids you can sign up yourselves as well next slide so the summer we have I mean many programs I do uh programs for babies zero to um and then this year our summer theme is going to be our color our world so ours we have art everything um so we have our mystical kickoff which is June 2nd that's going to be a fun day for our kiddos they are gonna have a mess up there I have sensory station um they get wet uh again it is Art so they're going to be messing with finger paints um we do have June 4th our magical balloon shows so that's going to be fun it's the first time Adam uh so we're excited for that and then you said we have our John o'briant magic show so the dates for that and then again you can follow us um follow us on our website we also have a newsletter so you subscribe to that see what we're doing throughout the year and then follow us on Facebook and Instagram about we have but also yes I want to start a moms group too where we go walk the park Maybe twice um a month don't want to start that and it'll be at our walking trail so I'll also read to the kids more questions Monday was no Tuesday with birthday and the library was giving away free trees and um so I I messaged Crystal because we we go way back I'm like she did have some but um so we planted Dr quick I planted 23 That central office but you know just follow the library because they're always doing these things like giveaways and you know that you can do with your families and you know 50 years from now we'll have trees there that but they're not black trees the red trees but they're called Black by the door they can't have a lot of fun my son participated in Bishop forever and he won a bookmarker contest that he drew and I have that is trash its treasured it was a lot of fun indeed in the back thank you so much what Court do you hear me High School I work under another and we have um and we have uh Robert you know yes and so you're here to just tell you that uh within the support our students and we work well with um social workers everything that they first going on with our students we know our students each have a story everyone is different and we look at the whole picture we don't our job is not just to go in so you're going to go to court regards to find out exactly what is going on with our student so we all work together and uh this year we've done really well here we still have this and also the main goal is just for to have the close communication relationship with the parents and our students that were made to uh succeed of course the number 1 thing we want is for us to do it succeeded graduate but uh we are under the the department but our title is drop off preventionist because the prevention that we find to prevent from more important we're trying to prevent our students from bailing uh so that is a more more uh bold the main the communication relationship with I don't want parents to think that when we call that it's already in trouble with the you know usually we call to let the parents give them an update on how their children are doing in attendance and when we made when I moved because I had high school different from MMS but when I when I come from our students I go over I go over their their credit or their absences and we talked about uh their golden friends you know what are they gonna do uh when they graduate what is their interest in all of that stuff not only do I call in regards to your results already being a borderline and assumes I like to update parents also that they that I see uh I see as an effort and I see a difference in regards to it and it's not always gonna be a bad you know cost you know I like to update my time on that we did send out wires when they reach like 5 days and after that we have the procedures for the steps to you know to check on the kids we do home visits uh we got several that's the last results but otherwise we'll get phone calls every day we send out emails we send out texts uh there's so many different ways to communicate with the parents so we let them know we are there and all they got to do is love will and um this coming year we will have some changes on cases where that out um started you know just started communication with um I'd like to see women involved with this a big 1 Police officer and you know what the Dropout situation have always been something that
