February Proud You're a Picker Award Recipients

Meet Mary Ann Saenz, Roel Tagle, and Gregorio Vargas. They were selected as the Proud You're a Picker Award recipients, Robstown ISD's employee recognition program, for the month of February. Each employee was nominated for going above and beyond their job duties. They are pictured here with Superintendent, Dr. Maria Vidaurri. Below are a few excerpts from their nomination:
Mary Ann Saenz, Teacher- Robstown High School
-"Mary Ann always goes over and beyond her job expectations. She shares her knowledge and helps many students during her own personal time to apply for scholarships and assists with college questions they may have. Many students turn to her for help. She has devoted many years to RISD and the love she has for students is obvious. She has been known to bring in coats, jackets, shirts, pants, and other necessities our students may not have. She relates to students in her own special way and brings many smiles to their faces. Her caring ways are admired, we are glad to recognize Ms. Saenz for her caring devotion to students."
Roel Tagle, Custodian- Lotspeich Elementary
-"We are so lucky to have Mr. Tagle here as part of the Lotspeich Elementary family. One perfect example is when a teacher forgot her purse in her classroom on a Friday evening. Mr. Tagle was in Corpus and didn't think twice before he drove back to Robstown so the teachers' weekend wouldn't be ruined. He is the epitome of a hard worker. He shows students kindness and serves as a role model and mentor. He works tirelessly to keep our campus clean, he works with an air of pride. His expectations of cleanliness transcends into being the best at whatever you do in life."
Gregorio Vargas, Teacher- Robstown High School
-"Mr. Vargas is one who engages with his students in a way that makes you feel more than just a number. You can tell he genuinely cares in the way that he listens and even remembers to follow up and ask "how'd it go" or "how are you doing now?" I remember I was having a hard time when a family member passed and Mr. Vargas would offer words of encouragement and advice to help get me through that. He's really made a difference to me. He's so deserving of this award."

These are just a few of the positive things that were submitted on each employees nomination form. Thank you for making us all #robstownproud. You three make the difference.
