are trustees and myself. I like to thank everyone for taking time this evening to be part of this interactive session and during this a virtual Town Hall 9 purpose of this town hall this evening be able to provide you the plan for phase 3 of opening schools or reopening or schools in order to and also to be able to answer your question so in order for this to be interacting what I'm requesting is that you type in any person to see her and that will more than anything to give us an idea as far as what you our community is wanting to know about transitioning to transition back into school as well to be able to answer the questions that we can now if there is not a question I can answer this evening I can assure you the presentation will be posted on our main webpage and if you haven't had a chance to do this already please check out our new one we hope that that you would like that admit it becomes user-friendly for you to deal with a look at that specific session or we will have a presentation and like I said as well as I do the presentation so we're going to go ahead and get started and remember as a virtual town hall is not just for me to stand here and talk and is there with you I want to make sure that we're serving you Austin ISD Community together we're going to get through this together do you want to serve our children and our school community when you started with a presentation so we begin with R blueprints for reopening schools and now we're going to be discussing phase 3 so this is Todd call Bath Community please make sure that you know this in your calendar so all students will remote will report return to remote learning from January 6th Ruby a message to the president please Marcus in your calendar so school will return school will begin on January 6th but we like to do is go ahead and continue additional 3 days of remote Russian that way we get in our school on our for Desert a time to transition because we know that during the holidays and I will have families together and especially also during the January 1st New York so we want to give some time to be able to to transition safely and for our school and so in person instruction will start on January 11th of 2021 alright so we're different priorities is number one to provide all of our students a quality education do body instruction as well as stop safety now these are two areas we take very very seriously community and about our academic options that we have but as well as a base 3 summer program social programs number one is that we offer remote instruction we had an opportunity to be able to implement remote instruction throughout this first semester and 1/4 of all of you know also we do have the option of in-person inspection where our students to attend our school face-to-face with our amazing teacher now again our schools are completely open at this time so in any student any family but chooses in person construction we definitely don't welcome them with open now on remote instruction assuming that thing but I want to make sure that we stress is if your child is learning from home now we know that at the high school we have computers are not very tall are we just recently with the support of our Board of Trustees and everyone working together we just received our our big shipment so now we can considers ourselves a 101 School District start a return back to school or we will have a device available for every town to not only be able to do to work and impertinent Russian but also remotely at times as long as you have a Wi-Fi service in your home now we do have a limited amount of hot spots and we've been able to share with our student but those are limited so parents we hope that that we as we work together we find ways and Dad really know and help you navigate on ways to be able to get some Wi-Fi at don't forget though we do have Wi-Fi capability outside of every single School building that we have I just so you know that that is available to everyone in our community students are required to participate in remote learning through Friday so we understand that at our intermediate and the rest of our elementary schools we don't have enough devices in every child's hand just yet but we do have it are instructional and we do know that remember and will we have to find at a school district is he be evidence that every child is learning every day so you'll definitely continue to upload any type of document for assignments that are peaches are requesting as well as prove that you have participated in that particular day our students still must follow become compulsory attendance law requires 9% of the class has to be for them to be present at Weatherby remote or whether be a course in person that is a state requirement now let's talk a little bit about dinner Construction in-person instruction is available to all students Monday through Friday again we ask for your commitment to continue to send your children our student store are full where we know that they learn the best in front of our amazing teacher all the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills are what we call the teks standards are taught instruction for students at risk of not graduating or green promotion so let's talk about the little bit and clarify now this is only for students that the right now aren't being a successful working from home remotely so what you should expect as we start to transition back to any person construction or students need a little more support visually from our teachers and class you will be receiving a letter from your campus principal again stating that if your child falling behind in a certain area and more pork at the very end for seniors right now are seniors who are at risk of not graduating by the end of the school year so we're here to help with your lesson make sure everything with child is successful the criteria that that goes back to the end of remote instruction for students that at this point are falling number one have a class average of 65 or below in one or more subjects so that'll be the first year that has been looked at if you receive this letter the second thing is student has three or more unexcused absences six will you look at that if your child has an unexcused absence you can only have up to about 8 unexcused absences at Berkeley master and eight or nine is second semester and then at that point they do not meet the 90% compulsory attendance law now that's not just here in Robstown ISD every school district across the state of Texas and here we believe in partner with you and here we believe in working with you so work with his hand in hand it will do whatever we need to do to make sure that your child is simple but again if your child has categories or requested for them to come back once we start the next semester in January parents now you do have an option you do have an option to Steel in one of two ways number one by submitting a medical exemption but this is something that has to be reviewed and a substitute certification from your medical doctor if a child if your child or if someone in your household is at high risk especially right now because we're leaving in navigating through this pandemic so that is one option that you continue to work with you in that manner the second thing is requesting a transition meeting so our principles are here to serve you able to look at them here out every single special circumstances there may be but ultimately in an educate the public have a responsibility to ensure that every single child is successful do parents know that if you receive this letter for request for child to come back to you in person and when I'm right now either they're at risk of graduating from high school or the risk of not being promoted to the next grade level but also if there's a three or more unexcused absences per 6 week together we can look at these two areas if you choose to it will be there for your parents at the same time we need to make sure that our kids continue to move forward and work and work successfully so we're looking for your support system were required to home and once you children with us here in our school system and social in order to maintain healthy and safe learning environment in Robstown ISD we're implementing proactive help Safeguard the  and We start from Resorts about which against the person who is positive we have a series of questions that we have their formula to question their very specific question that helps to really get us in tub who has a child who has the staff member been in contact with for more than 15 minutes or less than succeed because our phone calls we required where I'm at so through contact tracing that helps to determine quarantine a person with a class or do we have to quarantine a school always only putting our students in a fast-paced T-Bird because I know throughout the semester we've had various levels of quarantine daughter but at different times you've also noticed that one campus may have to go back to remote in another campus is not know that there is a process that we follow to the term contact pricing so it's not always going to be the same another question that we've been asked if my child has passed and it has good attendant will he or she be expected to return to enforce construction if your child is right now you're in Construction and your child is doing well academically and for participating daily your child will not be required to return back to in-person instruction 22 phase 3 Ameriplan is many to ensure that all students that and I'll take the seed and those are the children that were requesting to come back to school once we return on January 6th remember January 6th 7th and 8th we will still operate remotely as we are on we did today as a school district starting January 11th is when we will start to have our in-person coming back as well as those students who have record we requested come back to school what options do I have if I choose not to send my top back to school so the state of Texas has given us two different options instead of the public school system we must offer and follow let's talk about that a little bit call Dave and there's two different areas in price.
