Good afternoon, Writing Committee,

I’d like to invite you to Meeting ​#3 of our​ District Writing Committee, where we will review our current writing data in DMAC and work toward alignment in scoring student responses using the STAAR rubric.

Now that we have collected our initial data, our next step is to ensure we are evaluating student writing consistently and have a shared understanding of what low-, medium-, and high-scoring responses look like.

Please bring three samples of student writing:

• One low-scoring response​ (against STAAR Rubric) 

• One medium-scoring response​ (against STAAR Rubric) 

• One high-scoring response​ (against STAAR Rubric) 

 We will use these samples to compare ratings, discuss our reasoning, and build consistency in how we assess student writing across the district.
