Lady Pickers Claim Historic 5-Peat at THSWPA State Championships

The Robstown ISD Lady Pickers powerlifting team has once again made history, earning the THSWPA State Championship title and securing an incredible fifth consecutive team championship at the state meet held March 20, 2026, in Edinburg, TX.

Leading the charge was Paloma Calderon, who delivered a dominant performance in the 123-pound weight class, earning 1st place along with four prestigious honors: Outstanding Lightweight Lifter Overall, Outstanding Lightweight Squat, Outstanding Lightweight Bench Press, and Outstanding Lightweight Deadlift.

Additional top finishes included Kylie Galvan, who claimed 1st place in the 114-pound weight class; Katarina Herrera, who earned 2nd place in the 132-pound weight class; and Gavigail Martinez, who secured 3rd place in the 165-pound weight class.

Adding to the team’s success, Head Coach Tony Ramon was recognized as the Most Winning Coach of the Meet in his first year on the Robstown athletics coaching staff. Coach Ramon credited the achievement to stepping into a well-established program.

From early morning training sessions to the final lifts on the state stage, the Lady Pickers demonstrated exceptional strength, discipline, and determination. Their historic 5-peat is a testament to the program’s culture of excellence and commitment to success.
