Robstown Boys Powerlifting Team Captures THSPA State Championship

The Robstown Early College High School Boys Powerlifting Team has earned the Texas High School Powerlifting Association (THSPA) State Championship, showcasing strength, discipline, and determination on the state stage.

Leading the team was Gilbert Rios, who claimed 1st place in the 181-pound weight class, earning the title of State Champion. Ricardo Ruiz secured 2nd place in the 148-pound weight class, while Gabe Garza earned 3rd place in the 165-pound weight class.

Additional team results included Aaron De La Rosa, who placed 6th in the 242-pound weight class; Ethan Vasquez, who finished 8th in the 181-pound weight class; Jessie Hernandez, who placed 13th in the 123-pound weight class; and Emmanuel Martinez, who earned 14th place in the 220-pound weight class.

The team’s success was guided by Head Coach Hernandez, who was recognized as the Winning Coach of the Meet, highlighting the leadership and strength of the program.

This championship marks another milestone for Robstown ISD powerlifting, as both the boys and girls teams captured state titles this season. The achievement reflects the hard work of the student-athletes and the continued excellence of the district’s athletic programs.
