ROBSTOWN ISD ENGAGES WITH TODDLERS WITH READING
Where is the green sheep? This was the pressing question during Toddler Reading Time that Robstown ISD has been hosting each month. The two year olds who sat around Amy Enrriques, District Instructional Literacy Coach, were able to answer with enthusiasm. “He’s sleeping!” one of the toddlers exclaimed. After finishing the story, students were able to recognize not only was there a green sheep, but there were ‘brave’ sheep, ‘thin’ sheep, and ‘far away’ sheep throughout the story.
After finishing, the children were able to identify their colors with crayons during the final hands-on activity, and got to color their favorite colored sheep, along with a take home activity and a free copy of the book “Where is the Green Sheep?".
The next toddler reading time will be held Thursday, November 12th at Hattie Martin Early Childhood Center at 9:00AM. This is open to the public, and free to attend.
