Meet Adolfo Gonzalez, Juanita Pacheco-Ramon, and Adriana Lunoff. They were selected as the Proud You're a Picker Award recipients, Robstown ISD's employee recognition program, for the month of January. Each employee was nominated for going above and beyond their job duties. They are pictured here with Superintendent, Dr. Maria Vidaurri. Below are a few excerpts from their nomination:
Adolfo Gonzalez, Seale Junior High- Teacher/Coach
Coach Adolfo Gonzalez exhibits a great type of service to the student athletes he coaches. Throughout the season, Cross Country taught us that no matter how hard things get, never give up and always finish. In addition, it bettered us as athletes and men. Coach Gonzalez always showed us his undivided attention and exhibited patience. He catered to the basketball and baseball team by modifying workouts for our individual sports. Coach is a great person, a great Coach, and always put smiles on all of our faces. My teammates are very grateful we had Coach Gonzalez take us under his wing.
Juanita Pacheco-Ramon, Lotspeich Elementary- PE Teacher
Coach Pacheco finds ways to include all students. She has gone out of her way to research Autism and implement instructional strategies that are engaging and sensory friendly. She brought in equipment to her classroom that she felt they would enjoy and are appealing to their needs. In a message I received from a parent praising her, it read: " Coach Pacheco is always taking my children's needs into consideration and making it a priority. Recently, she asked me if I could get her in contact with the ABA therapy center my children attend, so she can see if they would be willing to provide her with material tips that will help to better understand Autism. I am so appreciative of her and the fact that she is taking it upon herself to better understand my children's needs."
Adriana Lunoff, Lotspeich Elementary- Teacher
Mrs. Lunoff has completely transformed our campus library and has worked in collaboration with our staff to promote literacy. She inspires our students to read, and wholeheartedly believes that a love of reading is the heart of literacy and students' future success. She has established incentives for students, which include the Super Reader's Club which allows students to earn an Associate, Bachelor, or Doctoral Degree in Reading depending on the number of books they have read. Students are eager to go to the library, and are disappointed when they cannot. Mrs. Lunoff has been a key factor for the success of our book fairs. She deserves to be recognized and honored for her efforts.
These are just a few of the positive things that were submitted on each employees nomination form. Thank you for making us all #robstownproud. You three make the difference.
