What are some services School Social Workers provide?
SERVICES TO STUDENTS:
- Provide crisis intervention.
- Assist students in understanding and accepting self and others.
- Assist with conflict resolution and anger management.
SERVICES TO PARENTS/FAMILIES:
- Assist parents in accessing and utilizing school and community resources.
- Interview the family to assess problems affecting child’s educational adjustment.
- Counseling (group, individual and/or family).
SCHOOL-COMMUNITY LIAISON:
- Obtain and coordinate community resources to meet students’ needs.
- Advocate for new and improved community/school activities.
