What are some services School Social Workers provide?

 

SERVICES TO STUDENTS:

  •       Provide crisis intervention.
  •      Assist students in understanding and accepting self and others.
  •       Assist with conflict resolution and anger management.

SERVICES TO PARENTS/FAMILIES:

  •       Assist parents in accessing and utilizing school and community resources.
  •       Interview the family to assess problems affecting child’s educational adjustment.
  •       Counseling (group, individual and/or family).

SCHOOL-COMMUNITY LIAISON:

  •       Obtain and coordinate community resources to meet students’ needs.
  •       Advocate for new and improved community/school activities.
