Transfer Request

STUDENT REGISTRATION & TRANSFER REQUESTS

Robstown ISD accepts online applications for student registration, out-of-district transfer requests, and in-district transfer requests.  Applications are available for specific windows of time during the school year. These timelines are necessary to ensure adequate staffing for the incoming school year. Please select the appropriate application process from the options below.

Effective April 15, 2024, through April 26, 2024

Contact the school attendance clerk to enroll students for the 2023-2024 school year (current school year).  Out-of-district and in-district transfer requests are no longer accepted for the current school year (2023-2024).

Robstown ISD will release public notice when each of these registration opportunities are open for current and prospective parents and families. Thank you.

No out-of-district or in-district requests will be accepted outside these timelines. The only exception to this rule will be if a student/family becomes a resident in the district after the application windows have closed (new student registration only, due to residential change).

Out-of-District Transfer Requests (New & Renewal)

AVAILABLE:  April 15, 2024, through April 26, 2024

*After April 26, 2024, out-of-district transfer requests for the school year 2024-2025 will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

  • Click the applicable link above to request consideration of your child(ren) to attend Robstown ISD while residing outside the district. This includes BOTH new applications, and those wanting to renew their transfer request.
 
  • Notice will be sent to each Parent/Guardian who submits before the deadline, providing either approval or denial of the transfer request. If a request is approved, the Parent/Guardian must complete the online registration for each student for the upcoming school year at the designated time.
 
  • For questions about out-of-district transfer requests, please contact the PEIMS Department at 361-767-6600 ext. 2084 or ext. 2112.
 

In-District Transfer Requests (New & Renewal)

AVAILABLE:  April 15, 2024, through April 26, 2024


  • Click the link below to request consideration of your child(ren) to attend an elementary school other than your school based on residence. This applies to San Pedro, Lotspeich, and Robert Driscoll Elementary schools only.
 
  • The deadline to apply for the next school year is listed above, and after this date, the window of opportunity will close for all 2024-2025 in-district transfer requests. Any applications submitted after this deadline will only be approved for extenuating circumstances.
 
  • Notice will be sent to each applicant providing either approval or denial of the transfer request. In addition to the In-District Transfer Request form, the Parent/Guardian must complete online registration for each student for the upcoming school year at the designated time.

New & Returning Prekindergarten & New Kindergarten Registration

AVAILABLE:  Monday, April 15, 2024, 8:00 a.m. – Monday, April 30, 2024 midnight

Onsite Registration will be April 30, 2024 from 4-6 pm

  • Click the applicable link above (when it becomes available) to complete online registration for Pre-K and Kindergarten for the next school year. This is the preferred method of registration.
 
  • Registration at this time ensures adequate staffing for the next school year. Complete your registration by the deadline listed above.
 
  • If you are unable to register online, contact your respective campus to set up an appointment to register in person.  Only the one person registering the student will be permitted to enter the building

Returning Student Registration - PK4 thru 12th Grade

Available May 1- 24, 2024 at 8:00 a.m.

Onsite Registration will be June 5 - 6, 2024 from 8 - 6 pm

  • Click the link below (when it becomes available)to complete online registration for your student who completed the 2023-2024 school year (was enrolled on May 26, 2024) AND is returning for the 2024-2025 school year.  This includes currently enrolled PK3 students going to PK4 and currently enrolled PK4 students going to Kindergarten. 
  • If you pre-registered a New PK or New KG registration in April of 2024, do not complete another one. You should already have received an approval or have been contacted about missing documents.  Please submit all requested documents as soon as possible.  
  • This application is only available for students who reside within the RISD school district boundary or have an approved out-of-district transfer application.
  • You will use your Skyward Parent Portal to complete this process.
 

New Student Registration

Available May 1, 2024, at 8:00 a.m.

  • Click the link below (when it becomes available)to register your student who is new to Robstown ISD, and for whom the 2024-2025 school year will be their FIRST year of attendance in the district.  This is also for students who where enrolled at some point during the 2023-2024 school year but withdrew prior to the end of the school year (not currently enrolled).
  • This opportunity is only available for students who reside within the RISD school district boundary or have an approved out-of-district transfer application.
  • All NEW 9th -12th-grade students must contact Ms. Chris Pena at 361-387-5999 ext. 3420 to schedule a meeting with their school counselor prior to the first day of school.
  • All NEW 6th – 8th-grade student’s parents must provide a valid phone number and email address. The counseling department will email a course selection sheet.  The school counselor will contact you to discuss your selections in order to prepare a schedule prior to the first day of school.  Please be on the lookout for the email.
